Carers
Often people in a caring role do not recognise themselves as carers particularly if they are looking after somebody close to them, such as a family member or friend. But if you provide unpaid support to someone who is ill, frail, or disabled, including those with a mental health or substance misuse problem, then you are a carer.
Caring for someone is an important and invaluable role which can involve long hours and may be both physically and mentally demanding. There are many services available to help you, no matter what your age or circumstances.
If you are caring for someone, you may need additional help, information and advice so that you can carry out your caring role and look after your own health and wellbeing too. Many people don't see themselves as 'carers' but caring is a demanding job and we hope that we can help link you and the many different services that can support you in this role.
If you are a carer please download and complete our carers registration form (also available at the reception desk). The surgery has a noticeboard dedicated to providing information to carers.
