Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Vaccination Programme will start in September 2024
RSV is one of the common viruses that cause coughs and colds in winter.
In most people, RSV infection causes a mild respiratory illness, but for a small number of people who are at risk of more severe respiratory disease, it might cause pneumonia or even death.
Eligible patient cohorts for this programme are:
- Adults aged 75 to 79 years (these patients will remain eligible until they reach 80 years and will not be eligible thereafter)
- Pregnant women (from 28 weeks of pregnancy but before 36 weeks)
More information on the RSV vaccination programme
We will be holding clinics at the surgery during September and will be in contact with eligible patients.
The majority of the invitations will be sent via a bookable text (SMS) link and we encourage you to make use of this self-booking system whenever possible.
