Non NHS Private Fees
Private (non-NHS) Services
Due to workload pressures and the need to prioritise NHS work, private (non-NHS) work is currently taking up to 10 weeks.
The NHS does not pay for some of the services we provide. These include private sickness certificates, insurance forms, holiday cancellation forms, medical reports, fitness to travel certificates, private prescriptions and certain travel vaccinations (e.g. Hep B) The table below shows our fees for these services.
If you are booking a private medical please tell the receptionist when booking so that a longer appointment can be allocated. Some medicals will need to be carried out by a GP other than your own.

Shotgun / firearms licence applications
The practice will complete the medical proforma questionnaire in relation to an application for a shotgun/firearms licence or renewal of a licence, for which the fee is £75.00. However, it is best NOT to send your application to the police until the Medical Proforma is completed by the GP and can be sent accompanying the application, as the estimated turnaround time for the Medical Proforma to be completed by the GP can be up to 8 weeks.
